Alifushi and Etthingili were named as the Powell Islands by Captain Robert Moresby after Lieutenant F.F. Powell, who assisted during the difficult survey of the Atolls of the Maldives in 1834–36.

Though Dhuvaafaru was abandoned until recently, there is physical and literary evidence that the island was inhabited more than 200 years ago

Carpentry is the base of the island's economy. Looking around the country, the majority of carpentry specialists are from Innamaadhoo.

Following the 2004 tsunami, inhabitants of the destroyed Kandholhudhoo island were relocated to Ungoofaaru for temporary housing until being rehoused on neighboring Dhvuvaafaaru in 2008.

Famous for the bioluminescence plankton (Redhan), the spectacular "Sea of Stars" can be experienced in this island yearly. With clean roads and white sandy beaches Vaadhoo is one of the most beautiful inhabited island in Maldives.

Ibn Battuta’s two visit to Maldives, Raa kinolhas was the first island he came. (mentioned in his book) in honor of ibn bathoothaa there is a park built in kinolhas called IBN BATTUTA MANZIL.

Inguraidhoo is one of the inhabited islands of Raa Atoll with a population of 1209 including foreigners. Geographically, the island is 153.25 km north of the country's capital, Malé.

Hulhudhuffaaru of North Maalhosmadulu Atoll was an uninhabited island a few years ago. The reason for the island's relocation was difficulty going in and out of both Ungula and Gaaundoodhoo island and there was no future for the two islands.

Fainu has been known for having a beautiful nature. The main work done for the livelihood of the people of Fainu is government employment, agriculture and fisheries. There is ‘funafalu’ a place that attract a lot of attention.

Our Island is famous for being the first kingdom in Maldives and most of our locals uses the word "king" in their usernames on social media for this reason.
