Thulusdhoo is the capital of Kaafu atoll also known as Male' atoll and is just 26 km away from Male'. The island is an industrial island which includes fish drying factories, sea cucumber processing factories, boat building yards, and most famously the sole Coca Cola factory in the country.

The island is also famous for its astonishing views and its breathtaking nature. From the softly dousing sea to the beautiful illumination of the magnificent sun quickening path across the water, and the pleasant hospitality of the citizens have made the island one of the most preferable destination amongst tourists.

'Ziyaarath' - a tomb is located on the eastern side of the island which holds a disembodied head that washed up on the island. Legend says that when the head first washed ashore, the islanders put the head into a sack weighed it down twice into the deep sea but always washed back onto the island beach soon after. It was then the islanders built the tomb to lay the head to rest. Some people tell stories of spooky occurrences nearby the shrine to this day.

The island is also well known as a surfing island with two famous surfing reef breaks "Cokes" and "Chickens".‌‌

Ahmed Agil (Ammadey) is one of Maldives top professional surfers. He started surfing at 9 years of age at his home break ‘Cokes’. With a number of titles to his name throughout his professional surfing career, Ammadey’s most prestigious achievement is representing Maldives at The Japan World Surfing Games (2019), for 2020 Olympic qualification. Ammadey accomplished 3rd place to qualify for the Japan event, at the Maldives Olympic Surf Trials. He attended a number of other international surfing competitions throughout 2019, including the 2019 Asian Surfing Games in China & The Covelong Point Surf Festival in India. Ammadey finished the 2019 Maldives National Surf Rankings in 3rd place and has already started his 2020 campaign with a consistent 3rd place at the season opening event, The Gadhoo Pro. Ammadey’s other top surfing achievements include 1st place at the Indian Open Surfing Championships in 2017, 2nd place at the Rannamaari Challenge 2019 and 2nd place at the Farahiki Challenge 2018. Ammadey is often found surfing his favourite wave - his beloved home break, Cokes.‌‌"I met TORQ while I was working as a surf guide on a safari boat.
