Hinnavaru is the second most populous island in the Lhaviyani Atoll. The island is one of the most popular island in the Maldives for "Olhaali" and short eats.

Olhuvelifushi is one of the most favorite picnic destinations in the atoll. The veli beach here is always filled with visitors from other islands of the atoll and from other atolls as well.

The Island is small and people earn their living mainly on tourist resort jobs and government jobs. A significant number of people make a living through agriculture, small businesses, tuna and grouper fishing

Best known for their distinct dialect, Naifaru is the capital island of Lhaviyani atoll. With fishing as the primary occupation, the first canning factory of the country was chosen to be nearby Naifaru due to the high fishing rate of the islanders.
